Getting Away

Cebu has some beautiful beach resorts which attract tourists from all over the world. Obviously there are both good and bad things about being such a tourist destination. For our family - it was all good. Below are some of the photos of our time last weekend at Plantation Bay, which is located only a 30 plus minute taxi ride from our place but seemingly in a different universe. We liked the fact that overall, it was a family-friendly environment with lots of noisy kids and parents. I'm glad that the "couples" or "single people" were outnumbered and perhaps even annoyed. Our children had a great time swimming in the pools and the lagoons, which were a welcome relief to the heat. We even swam at night. Also another welcome relief - clean air. The polluted air here in Cebu City is diffent than in Southern Cal. Apparently, there is no such as thing as a smog check here. It was nice to get a way as a family and to see the kids enjoy themselves.
