The Spirit is Working
It is remarkable to witness how the Spirit is moving within our girls here at My Refuge House these days. This is what I'm seeing:
- girls that one day are threatening harm towards each other are later found praying together laying gentle hands upon each other in loving unity. This is the grace of Christ.
- girls who were in spiritual darkness are beginning to see things through spiritual eyes. Their actual time spent in devotion surpasses many religious folks and adults (including me) and they do not find the Bible boring. Instead the Word is life and they hunger for it (examples: writing Bible verses in their journal during their free time; they are anxious to share the Bible and Christ to their family when they return home). This is the light of Christ.
- growing impatience and frustration to leave the facility and return home has been transformed into perseverance and a willing patience to be changed. They are beginning to realize what has been conveyed numerous times here: What God does in you while you are waiting is just as important or perhaps even more important than what you are waiting for. . This is the hope of Christ
- the girls simply love each other. Sure - there are arguments and conflict. But as quickly as they flare up, they are just as quick to forgive and love on each other. They truly care for each other as sisters and to witness this is an absolute joy. This is the love of Christ.
"My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I, too, am working." - John 5:17.
