Full House

We have a full house at the Bermejo compound this weekend. As you already know, we've have some of my relatives (Bermejo side) with us the last couple weeks as my Auntie Beth has had radiation therapy for her cancer condition here in Cebu. Earlier this week my cousin, Ryan, arrived from Florida and another cousin, Inday and her husband are here from Australia. Today, my Auntie Sonia arrived from California to join the support network, and we have over 15 people in our house now. Everyone is here to pray for healing and provide encouragement to Auntie Beth. To say the least, the kitchen is busy with constant cooking (which means a lot of eating) and the house is full of activity and laughter - and we, especially the kids are enjoying it. Megumi is amazed to see the gift of hospitality in full expression and she has known for years that this is part of the Filipino, and especially the Bermejo tradition. I love that our kids are able to witness this expression of our spiritual gift. The word hospitality is an interesting word, and entertaining is a word that usually comes to mind. But the "hospital" is embedded there, and we hope that our home has been a place of healing and restoration. Last night we celebrated her last day of three-weeks of treatment, and look forward to the next scan, which we pray will show complete healing.
